Fun & Games At Duke

I know this post will most likely get me into trouble with some groups, but -

Medical evidence from the hospital shows pretty conclusively that a sexual assault took place. That part of the story doesn't seem to be in dispute.

But I can see some scenarios that don't involve the media conviction of the entire Duke Lacrosse team. Did this take place at Duke? Could it have taken place after she left there as a sex-for-money deal? If it did take place with the team, again - was it a sex-for-money deal?

If her story is true, then not only the three who she claims raped her but anyone else present who was aware of this and did nothing should be hung by their balls. But how about the media back off a tad and wait to see what the truth is? DNA has been collected from all but one of the team members, and this should stop the feeding frenzy - yeah, right.

Almost An S&G

The jury is now out for the weekend, but I really hope that they give Moussaoui life in prison. He wants to be a martyr for the cause, and I'm sure the terrorists asswipes could make use of that. I'd rather see him buried in a hole at the bottom of some prison so deep that they'd have to pump oxy into him, and let the rest of the world forget about him.

It looks like the Marines may be leaving Okinawa in the near future and heading to Guam. Training areas on Guam itself, as well as being so close to Saipan and Tinian, would be great for fine tuning those Marines. It would also do my heart good to see towns like Henoko, Kin and Koza watch their economy go down the shitter. I was on Okinawa in 1970 when it was still under U.S. control, but from the point of view of the Marines it seems to have gone downhill in a hurry - the Okinawans don't want us there? Fine by me. And by the way, the Okinawans are NOT Japanese, and have never appreciated being called that.

Thanks to Wayne's World for the research on this one.

Maybe They're Just Confused?

I see where there's more demonstration marches going on in California today. All those illegals who want to be in the U.S. - who are demanding to stay in the U.S. - and all carrying Mexican flags. I have to wonder what kind of message they think they're sending to the rest of this country?

At least one part of the demonstrations has slowed down. After school kids marching down the middle of streets, trying to disrupt as much as they could on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the California school system finally got around to sending out notices of truancy.

If they want to be here so f'kin bad, why wern't they absorbing as much education as possible instead of wandering the streets?

Still Getting Older

More birthdays: Gabe Kaplan (of Welcome Back Kotter) is 61 today. Herb Alpert is 71.

And Angus Young turns 51 today. And if you have to ask who he is, you need to broaden your musical horizons!

Finding Good People

This afternoon I did a clean-out of my book shelves and took around 50 paper backs to the Paperback Exchange at 212 N. Cherry Street, Kernersville, NC. As is normal, there's always a percentage of books that they didn't have a use for.

In my case, it was about 1/3 of what I brought in. But here's where I got a plesant surprise - She said I could either take them back home with me OR add them to a shipment she was putting together for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Needless to say, I hope the guys enjoy the books. And I'm going to make the Paperback Exchange a regular haunt from now on. And if you're ever in the Winston Salem / Greensboro area of North Carolina and need something to read, this is the place to go.

Oh - and she had a new Weimeraner puppy at the store - a beautiful and friendly little boy!

I Must Be Getting Older

The greatest white blues guitarist, Eric Clapton, turned 61 today.

Happy Birthday, mate.

My Thoughts on United States of Mexico

I was watching some of those demonstrations the other day and a couple of thoughts came to me. Bear with me while I try to put them down in some semblance of order.

I found it interesting that all those people who claim to want to stay here in the U.S. were waving Mexican flags. Those few who carried American flags were harrasses and abused. I've heard since that quite a few of those marchers want California, Arizona and New Mexico taken out of the U.S. and given back to Mexico. They should be careful what they wish for.

I keep hearing that we are a nation of laws. I can't argue that we don't have laws - hell, we got laws coming out the ass. It's impossible to walk down a street without breaking some law - we just pick and choose which ones we enforce.

As far as being a nation, well, we aren't a nation anymore - nations have borders and are capable (and allowed) to enforce those borders.

And as for those poor, downtrodden Mexicans - they've been getting special treatment for decades. We get immigrants from all over the world. How many signs and instructions have you seen posted in Hindu or Korean? How many people's jobs have depended on their being bilingual in Italian or Polish?

The Democrats keep telling us (and the MSM keeps parroting) that our economy is down the shitter. If the economy is so bad, why do they keep coming here?

Now I know that most of the Mexicans who've come here have had brutal lives, but I'd be willing to bet that there are still thousands in this country who are living no better as slaves with unscrupulous businesses threatening to turn them over if they say anything.

Both parties are acting like circle jerks looking for a pivot man over this - the Republicans don't want to lose the votes of the legal Mexicans and the Democrats - well, they pushed through the Motor Voter Act solely to get the illegal vote. But if something substantive isn't done - and done soon - there is the making of an insurrection in our country that isn't going to take very much to touch off.

Payback Time

I spent the weekend doing things that I knew I had no business doing - working in the yard, etc. Now my body is getting even with me.

Until I can quell this open revolt, I'll be on a short hiatus - it might be a day, it might be several. I'll still be around the usual haunts, but concentration levels are fer shit right now.

23 March, 2006

Quick Takes

I see that Wal Mart is expanding in China. I wonder if the goods they sell there are made in America?

A coyote was rounded up in New York's Central Park yesterday. No word on how many illegal Mexicans he had in tow.

Another new study is out - this time saying how damaging flouride is. Doctor Strangelove was 40 years ahead of its time!

So California has some of the filthiest air in the nation. All their EPA crap has really done a good job. Now there's a town where smoking is illegal, but diesel trucks and busses are still throwing out more dangerous chemicals that cigarettes ever thought of doing.

Everyone seems all excited about that guy in Afghanistan who might be executed for becoming a Christian, but I haven't heard anything about the Saudi's, who have the same laws and where even possession of a Bible can land you in jail.

And in another interesting twist, the French are once again fighting against the French. Both sides are losing.

What Do You Do?

When a dear friend loses a loved one, you're exactly 240 miles away and not physically able to go to her? That's my position right now, because Indigo has lost her companion of many years.

This girl was constantly at Indigo's side - not as master / pet but as friends who relied on and supported one another. I only had the privilege of being with her a handful of times, but she was a gentle, gracious dog who put the lie to the reputation garnered by some Rottweilers

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This beautiful girl gave unconditional love to all she came in contact with, and she won mine in return. I wish I could be with Indigo now in her time of sorrow, but that's not possible. I just want her to know how much she and her girl have meant to my life.

I'm Startin' To Worry

On Friday, I made a tongue-in-cheek reference to that great Irish invention, the car bomb. On Saturday, I got a hit from someone at Ft. Meade, Maryland.

Coincidence? I have my toothbrush and fresh skivvies packed and ready.

An S&G For The Gay-Lick

All over the country there were St. Paddy's Day parades, and at just about all of them there were groups of gays and lesbians wanting to march. They didn't want to march as Irish - no, that'd be too sensible. They wanted to do the ACT-UP routine, trying to turn the occasion into a Gay Day Parade. They couldn't understand why they were turned down. Maybe next year they can join in - if they want to march as humans. Nah, that'll never happen.

Speaking of the Irish, I heard a lot about the illegal Irishmen in the country. Most of these are illegal because the State Dept. can't get it's shit together and renew visas. Yeah, we shouldn't allow any illegals, but at least they make the attempt to fit in with our society and don't demand we change everything to suit them. There's only one group I can think of that demands that.

Remember when the biggest danger of going to Denny's for dinner was food poisoning? In California that looks to be supplanted by lead poisoning for three days in a row someone has shot up one of the restaurants. IHOP is starting to look pretty good!

The abortion pill, RU-486 is doing a really good job lately, isn't it? Some of the abortions have even been in the 80th trimester!

What happens when universities rely almost solely on SAT scores for admissions and scholarships and the SAT company can't mark its own tests correctly? Thousands of high school student end up getting rejected for schools they are supremely qualified for - and in some cases not being accepted to any college. Does the SAT company make any substantial 'mea culpa' over it? You gotta be shittin' me!

And how about that guy in South Carolina who kidnapped and raped those two girls? Even though it was strongly recommended he be put into treatment after his last prison for kidnap and rape of a 12-year-old, the judge let him go. Because the prosecution couldn't prove he would rape again. Just how they were supposed to prove that isn't made clear. Maybe they should have just had him move in with the judge's kids for a couple of years and see what happened. F'kin pathetic, and two more kids had to pay for it.

One last thing - that post I put out about the drug ads on TV? Some years ago I asked my doctor what he thought about them, and he let loose with a rant that would have gotten a standing ovation from Dennis Miller and Dennis Leary!!

|

Ah, The Irish!

In honor of St Patrick's Day, I think I'll partake of Ireland's two greatest inventions - I'll have a pint of Guinness while setting off a car bomb. Make that three inventions - a dram of single malt.

Is there any explanation why Carla Martin is on paid leave instead of out on bail? Witness tampering and contempt of court would do for starters. I know - we haven't heard her side yet. I'm really looking forward to hearing how she's going to attempt to justify this. In the meantime, Moussaoui looks to walk away from the death penalty.

While I'm waiting for that, I'd also like to know what's stopping the Feds from charging that Iranian asswipe in North Carolina with a terrorist act. the only difference between him and Mohammad Atta is the vehicle used and the scale of the attack. The desired outcomes were identical.

And I see that Russ Feingold has gotten Sen's. Harkin and Boxer to sign up on his censure attempt. If I was Feingold, I'd have to look at the fact that he can't even get Murtha to go along with him as a sign to STFD and STFU. But that would presume a certain level of intelligence which we already know doesn't exist.

|

16 March, 2006

Help Me Out Here

I'm just curious - and I think these ads are strictly an American thing - is there anyone out there who has gone to their doctor and asked to be prescribed a drug based on a TV commercial? What was the doctor's response?

And has anyone called a TV lawyer to get in on a class action suit? How about a CPA to help with back taxes?

I'm assuming someone must be calling these people or they would've stopped the ads by now. Like I said, I'm just curious - no names needed - maybe your treatment (good or bad) could point the way for someone else.

It's A Conspiracy!

Last night, Venezuela was ousted from that World Baseball Classic, losing to the Dominican Republic.

Has anyone heard from Hugo Chavez yet? I imagine he sees this as just another sign that America is going to invade him.

South of the Border

Why is it that Bush and others are convinced that those who didn't play by the rules to get in to this country will do so once they're in? i heard someone not so long ago claim that what we're getting is Mexico's best and brightest. Right - they're coming here to pick crops and sweep floors. Says a lot for the rest of Mexico, doesn't it?

"Being bilingual today is so important". Is anyone else out there pissed over this ad? If being bilingual is so f'kin important, why don't they shove their "Amigo" up their ass and put one out called "Good Buddy"?

My back is cactus today, so it's time for the drugs and the supine position.

This Is Indigo's Fault!

A little over 20 months ago, after Indigo prodding, harrasing, pushing and shoving me, I put my mind into Evil Bastard mode and kicked this pathetic offering up. The response has truly shocked me.

A few minutes ago, my visitor counter tripped the 25,000 mark. For the life of me I can't see why people keep coming back here, but I'm certainly not complaining! Over this period I've managed to to visit with Indigo, my Blogmother, on several occasions and I've "met" a tremendous group of folks. I've also run into the occasional troll, but that just adds to the spice of life.

As long as I feel like I have something to say I'll keep this going. Thank you one and all for letting me know my opinions aren't as ignorant as I sometime feel they are.

S&G - The Giggles Continue

After all the screaming about foreign management at our ports, the Winston Salem Urinal is just getting around to mentioning a warning that the DOJ released eight months ago - that there might be organized crime at our docks. Imagine that! What a shocker! Could someone tell them that the Mob has been there for at least six decades?

Iraq is in civil war. The war there is going terribly. Dubai was gaining sovereignty over our ports and was going to run the security. President Bush is wiretapping domestic phone calls. All of this has shown up recently in polls around the nation, and every one of them is wrong. So how did the public get these ideas? Gee - you think it might be from the media deliberately misreporting on these issues?

And in a real giggle (although it's devastating for those involved), Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe is going from strength to strength. in the last year, inflation there has hit 782%. Prior to February 2000, Zimbabwe exported food to other African nations. Then Bobby had the white farmers evicted and murdered, turning the land over to his buddies who had no idea of farming. In 2001, one U.S. dollar equaled 55 Zimbabwe ones. Now the rate is US$1 equals 99,000.

In a late addition ('cuz I fergot it first time around), don'tcha just love Russ Feingold (Stalinist Party)? Trying to get a censure motion against Bush through the Senate - Andrew Jackson is the only President to have been censured, back in 1834. Since Feingold is running for the Presidency in '08, he has to get his base energized early. That's the base that actively cheer for the terrorists and against anything that supports the United States.

Where do I send the check?

A Republican Win?

It was just announced that Dubai Ports World has given up any hope of managing those six U.S. ports. I guess that means they stay under British management for now, since there were no American companies willing to do the job.

The Republicans can congratulate themselves over this, but what are they going to do now? We still have China running some ports, and to me they're a bigger threat than the UAE is. We also have massive Saudi investment in the U.S. and last I heard large chunks of Hawaii belong to Japan.

Are we now going to do a third world trick and nationalize all these properties? If the UAE isn't reliable enough to take over managing ports, then the British, Chinese and others are just as suspect.

Since the management of the ports don't control what comes in, are we now going to prevent all imports from overseas? After all, that is the point where containers must be checked. Of course, if we stop imports other nations will stop receiving any of our exports. We can isolate ourselves in a nice, warm and fuzzy bubble, bring home all of our troops from around the world, close up our embassies and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist.

S&G - The Stepford Students

Yale and others are now put in a bind - accept military recruiters or accept government money. It's a shame that the case in the Supreme Court didn't mention ROTC, isn't it? I'm wondering why they keep beating up on the military instead of Bill & Hill, who were the ones who put "Don't Ask Don't Tell" in place to start with.

Between that high school in Colorado and the one in New Jersey, it's really nice to see that our schools are producing little Renfields. Whether they agree or not, the students must spout the party line if they want to get the grades and recommendations needed to get into a decent university, don't they?

And in a nice combination of the above, Yale has me curious. If I remember right, it was the Nazis who specialized in murdering Jews and homosexuals. The Taliban specialized in murdering women and homosexuals. Just how does admitting that terrorist fourth grader fit in with their equal rights program?

That asshole who drove his rental car into the students at UNC? Apparently he planned that particular stunt for over two months. Let's see - if you drive a plane into a building to kill people, it's terrorism. if you drive a car into a university quad to kill people, isn't that the same thing? After all, the only difference is in the degree.

And The Loser Is ... ...

Damn near all of us. It's nice to see that Hollyweird's Group Grope is over for another year. Apparently they had a wonderful time patting each other on the back for their conscious-raising movies. I say apparently because, once again, I didn't see even one second of the broadcast.

Has anyone out there thought about how almost every movie put out by Disney has made money? Or how most comedies and no-brain-required action flicks make money? Are any of you old enough to remember when it was the job of Hollywood to entertain?

Ever since they decided that it was their mission to partake in social engineering, the movies have gone right down the toilet. The last time I went to a theater was to see "Star Wars I", and I don't think I'd been out to a movie before that since "Hunt for Red October". The movies that were up for awards this year intrest me - not at all.

As long as those inflated egos and shrunken brain stems presume to tell me how to think, I'll stay at home with my money and wait for "Chicken Little" to come out on DVD.

What Has Islam Become?

First, I have to say just how scary it is that I agree with Osama's second in command, Zawahiri, about anything. But when he said that Jesus and Mohammad are no longer sacred but homosexuals are - well, I found myself nodding my head.

Now - over the past couple of years Islam has pretty much been required learning at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. So if that terrorist asswipe from Iran who drove the SUV through the student gathering would have just demonstrated, most of the kids he tried to kill would have most likely joined him. I haven't figured out how killing a group of college students makes up for Muslims killed elsewhere. But there's a lot about these asswipes I haven't figured out.

As I've written here before, I spent 13 months in Pakistan. I was stationed as a Marine Security Guard at Islamabad, but I also got to Lahore, the Margala Hills (the foothills of the Himalayas), Peshawar and the Khyber Pass. I made an attempt to learn Urdu and I loved my time there. I spent a lot of my time away from the other Americans and tried to learn everything I could about the history, religion and culture. This was in 1971 - 1972 and the Paki's were very friendly with us.

How the Muslims have turned from the people I knew to what they are now is a real shame, and it saddens me no end.

A Legal Fairy Tale

There was a brief article in the Winston Salem Urinal about someone who was indicted by a Federal grand jury. This poor soul is an illegal immigrant from Brazil who was busted for selling bogus drivers licenses to other illegals for $600 a pop.

The fun begins when you read that he was busted for the identical crime in New Jersey - where he promptly jumped bail. Some months later he was arrested again, this time in Burlington, North Carolina - same crime. Guess what? He jumped bail again.

There was no mention in this tale of whether this enterprising young man was granted bail on this charge. I'm not clinging to any hope.

A Very Special Day

During my trip to the local VA clinic yesterday, I saw a sign saying that today, March 4th, is Hug A Veteran Day.

A license is not required and there is no bag limit. Of course, it is permissable to hug a vet every day!

Indigo Scores Again

Indigo hasn't been posting very much lately - she's been fighting against quite a lot of pain lately and so far she's barely breaking even - but she done good today.

If you haven't seen it already, go over to her website. She has a really great entry about the thoughts of a Spainiard about what they - and Europe in general - have done to their continent over the last 60 years or so.

A very thoughtful and worthwhile read.

Some Quick Facts

For those who are taking news broadcasts at face value:

The capital of the UAE is Abu Dhabi, not Dubai. The chief of state is President KHALIFA bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan, ruler of Abu Zaby (Abu Dhabi), not the Emir or royal family of Dubai.

The UAE is made up of seven Emirates:
Abu Zaby (Abu Dhabi)
'Ajman
Al Fujayrah
Ash Shariqah (Sharjah)
Dubayy (Dubai)
Ra's al Khaymah, and
Umm al Qaywayn

Now, I don't know who owns what with this ports corporation, but I thought I'd give you some data no one else seems ready to give.

BTW - the data here is from the CIA World Fact Book. There's a link to it in my blogroll that will give you a complete rundown on any country.

This is a Joke

A propaganda minister for the Taliban government toured the United States, telling everyone how great the Taliban was and how slaughtering women was a good thing. Then his asshole buddy Osama sets 9-11 in motion. How does our government react?

They give this propaganda minister a student visa! Next, he's accepted at Yale!

Now, besides the fact that this puts paid to Yale's supposed Equal Rights and the rights of women - this guy would love nothing better than to kill each and every one of those women wandering around without a burka - there's one other thing about this that gets me.

This asswipe has a fourth grade education - and that's an Afghan fourth grade. No high school. No ACT. No SAT. Just a fourth grade education and he's accepted to Yale.

Hell, I can match that (barely). Will Yale take me in too, or do I have to go over to Afghanistan and kill a couple hundred women first?

Adapt, Improvise, Overcome

Never choke in a restaurant in the South...

Two hillbillies walk into a bar. While having a shot of whiskey, they talk about their moonshine operation.

Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table, who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough. After a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress.

One of the hillbillies looks at her and says, "Kin ya swallar?" The woman shakes her head no. "Kin ya breathe?" The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.

The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up the back of her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick with his tongue. The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth.

As she begins to breathe again, the hillbilly walks slowly back to the bar. His partner says, "Ya know, I'd heerd of that there 'Hind Lick Maneuver', but I ain't never seed nobody do it!"
