This is Insane

Right now there's an opening at the Supreme Court. Might be two or three more in the near future. Big deal. I doubt the Dem's in the senate will allow any of these vacancies to be filled.

Ted Kennedy, the f'kin communist drunk, has already said that he will oppose Bush's nominee no matter who it is or what their beliefs are. If that isn't a really good working definition of insanity I'd love to know what is!

Now we're going to have all Teddy's fellow travellers screaming that any of Bush's picks will overturn Roe v Wade, bring back the stocks and the dunking stool. What is the problem with these people?

I guess it's the same problem with the idiots on the right - the ones that are spending millions trying to lobby for their personal single-issue champion. Since they've got so much cash to piss away with lobbyists they could throw some of it my way - I promise I'll put it to better use that the thieves inside the Beltway will.

And the big damn deal? It's for one vote on the court. One. One justice isn't going to change abortion "rights". One justice by themself aren't going to change squat. While O'Connor was considered the "swing voter" on the Court, did anyone notice that her vote didn't stop us from losing our property rights? Hell, even the most activist of justices can't do anything unless a case is brought before the Court. Only then can their one vote out of nine take place.

There's been conservative judges appointed by Dems and activists appointed by Reps. Even the best intentioned pick can end up a piece of shit. All we can do is wait and see.
