This Is Just Too Funny!

I seem to remember that , when the Democrats hit Boston, the Winston Salem Urinal published a graphic that showed the location of the Fleet Center and the “cage”. Period.

In today’s waste of newsprint, on page A9, they print not only a full map of Manhattan up to the top of Central Park, but they list the locations and march routes of 12 – count ‘em – 12 separate demonstrating groups:

- - March and Rally For Women’s Lives, Planned Parenthood of NYC, NY Civil Liberties Union and Others.
- - Christian Defense Coalition Prayer Vigil
- - Green Party Political Festival
- - Eyes Wide Open Exhibit, held by American Friends Service Committee and the Memorial to Military and Civilians of the Iraq War
- - March and Rally for Peace and Justice
- - Stone Walk Vigil: September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows
- - March on Voting Rights, including AIDS, Drug Sentences, Hip Hop Summit Action Network, Still We Rise Coalition, and the NYALCU (again)
- - Meditation for Peace by the Buddhist Peace Fellowship
- - March for Our Lives by Poor Peoples Economic Human Rights Campaign
- - A Coalition of Arts and Labor groups setting up the World’s Largest Unemployment Line
- - Women’s Rights Rally by NOW
- - Anti-War Rally by VVAW (don’t they know that one’s over?)

Sorry – that’s turned out to be 12 events, but pushing at least 20 groups, depending on the numbers of the coalitions. And the paper publishes a map of their dates, times and routes. Just Lovely!

Today is just Sunday, the convention doesn’t start until tomorrow, and as of the time this rag was put to bed, over 260 “demonstrators” had already been arrested.

And us conservative-type people are supposed to be the nasty people??
