Sen. Byrd Would Be Proud

The North Carolina Republican Headquarters was broken into late Friday or early Saturday, with windows kicked out, vulgar grafitti and other things spray painted on the walls and a two-headed effigy burned in the office. There was evidence of other accelerants in the office as well, showing that they tried to torch the place.

Police said that approximately 100 youths, wearing masks and gloves, were seen in the area around the time of the destruction.

It's nice to see that the bigoted Southern Democrat's beliefs haven't changed in 100 years - if things don't go your way, resort to destruction, burning and lynchings.

Robert Byrd would be proud of these assholes.

(The reason this story wasn't on my blog earlier was that, although I heard it first on Fox around 5:00am today, I've been searching ABCNews, CBSNews, MSNBC, CNN, and PBS for their take on this story. Not one of them has even bothered to report it. I guess if they don't tell people, it never happened, right?)
