Still More Hatred

So - it has started. One of the Jewish "infiltrators" at the sites to be evacuated grabbed a gun and shot at Palestinians, killing two and injuring a further four. UPDATE: Since the original report, the death toll is now four, and the attack was at one of the West Bank settlements waiting to be emptied.

I've heard no word on how the Palestinians - or the Israeli soldiers - are reacting to this yet. This could be the one thing that sets off a slaughter. Hopefully, calmer heads will prevail.

I heard one of Israel's former prime ministers, Barak, saying something about these evacs showing to the world that Israel is taking the high ground. Bullshit. No matter what they do or how they do it, the rest of the world will never recognize that they have any right to exist - or for individual Jews to live.

Keep in mind, these people have lived in these areas for more than 40 years in some cases. This land became part of Israel as part of the 1967 war. Most have known no other home. Under any circumstances this would be gut-wrenching, but to have Hamas and the rest of the Paleostinian vultures looming over them makes the pain that much worse.
