All Americans Should Be Proud

The Afghanis finally had a say in who and how their nation will be governed.

This is a first for one of the oldest civilizations in the world, and one of the fiercest at defending itself. Should you doubt that, go to Google and check out how the British Army fared in its many fights in the Khyber Pass in the 1800's. I'm not going to do that one for you.

Check out Allah about what the average Abdul on the Street thought of being able to vote. Add to that the numbers of women voting - in a country where their mothers were whipped in public and they were denied even the simple pleasure of a basic education - and the result is just astounding.

And none of it would have been even a dream without the efforts of the United States. The Afghanis know that, even if it doesn't raise a blip on our screens, and they are very appreciative of it!

Those running for office have all pretty much filed protests of vote fraud - as expected - but that does not dampen the enthusiasm Afghanistan as a whole has felt about their vote.
