True Confessions - My Secret Shame

I guess it must be time for me to confess my secret shame. Here I am, a 50-something boy from Chicago; world traveler; bon vivant – and I just love listening to Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel!

They were on the cable station Trio last night, and for that hour just about all my problems walked! I think that they are just about the last of their breed – playing Both Kinds of Music** – and they just blow me away. Two pedal steel guitars, two fiddles – I don’t think the fiddle players were a glint in their daddy’s eye when Benson started this group – and one hell of a honky-tonk pianist.

Of course, I will always be tied to the Blues, but if you want to just kick back, forget all your pretensions and just have a hoot and holler for a while, these guys are the best in the business!
