Not In Our Neighborhood!

A feel-good story to start the day. This is from the AP:

"Shopkeepers and residents on one of Baghdad's main streets pulled out their own guns yesterday and killed three insurgents when hooded men began shooting at passers-by, giving a rare victory to civilians increasingly frustrated by the violence bleeding Iraq.

The clash in the capital's Doura neighborhood erupted when militants in three cars sprayed bullets at shoppers. Three people - a man, a woman and a child - were wounded."

(emphasis mine)

It may be considered rare now, but it's happening more and more - earlier this month seven terrorists got their 72 raisins handed to them by a group of townsmen south of Baghdad.

No, it's not time to fold up our tents and fade silently into the night, but with the determination of the local populace to get mad as hell and not take it any more, I'm starting to get a slight case of the warm fuzzies about this.
