More Fuelishness
In that last post there were a couple of power sources I forgot to mention:
Hydrogen - With the oceans of the world, there's more hydrogen then we could ever use, but cracking it loose isn't all that easy. Besides, hydrogen doesn't burn, it explodes. Personally, I'd hate to be the one in the car when a leak formed in the fuel line and parts of me reached escape velocity.
Geo-Thermal - This works great. It's cheap and clean. The only problem is that there's very few placces that can make use of this. Iceland has been using it for years, but that's because it straddles the mid-Atlantic ridge, which is why the entire island chain that's not buried in glaciers is threatened by volcanoes. About the only place in the U.S. that we could make use of this is Yellowstone, and even though it's next to free, clean evergy, I can hear the Greenies screaming already.
That leaves one source of energy that the U.S. has in plentiful supply. In fact, we may never run out of it - if only we could figure out a way to tap it. What I'm talking about is the self-righteous, narrow-minded selfishness and indignation that America excels at.
