UN "peacekeepers", serving six month stints in the Congo, have managed to leave hundreds of mixed-race children behind - with no support forthcoming from either the "father" or the United Nations.

That's not all they've left behind. Several women have contracted HIV from their "protectors" and had it spread to their husbands and children. In at least one case, a wonam who discovered she had contracted HIV made a point of having unprotected sex with other "peacekeepers" - firstly because she needed the money but also because she no longer cared.

Now there's talk of sending UN Peacekeepers to Lebanon. If I was Lebanese, I'd rather keep the Syrians.
