John Kerry - International Hero!

It looks like John Kerry, the man who said that so many European leaders wanted him elected, has managed to piss off another of our allies. After dismissing the Iraqi Prime Minister and the Polish President as mere pawns and puppets, he's now gone after the Prime Minister of Australia because John Howard had the lack of grace to say that he hopes that Bush wins.

I guess that it really doesn't matter, since Australia is on Kerry's list of the "coerced and bribed" nations, but why in Hell woould Kerry go out of his way to alienate the allies we already have for a vain hope of bringing Western Europe to the table? France and Germany have already said that they don't care who the next President is, they will not join the reindeer games.

What is causing Kerry to keep doing this? Does he think that once the war on terror is wrapped up he'll be able to play kissy-face with these countries and all will be forgiven? Does he honestly believe he'll be able to wrap up the war on terror without outright surrender?

Remember - the Australians lost many of their own people in the bombing at Bali. They also had one of their embassies bombed in Indonesia. The Australians may be a relatively small nation as far as population, but they play for keeps!
